Las Vegas Food Tour
Spent around 4 days in Vegas and ate at many popular spots to find if they live up to the hype!
Of course Vegas is known for casinos and clubs, but don’t sleep on the food! That is obviously overpriced, but who cares cause we can just earn it back at the casinos! Being a foodie, Vegas is a hot spot for celebrity chefs you got Gordon Ramsey, Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, Joel Robuchon, etc. Whats ridiculous is that each celebrity has more than one location and cuisine to add to the party. It makes it fun to compare spots, but for me just stresses me out finding the best one by searching them up over a 1,000 miles away.
Celebrity restaurants are normally underwhelming, but I was optimistic. I went with my family to each place and my rating represents the consensus of all our opinions. I am the food expert, but they follow in my footsteps so trust with a grain of salt.
I’m really dumb for not thinking prices really are absurd in Vegas. Food and drinks were double the price at least! Every dinner was more than Nobu Malibu and I thought that place was for the top 1%. Perfect way to go into debt for 2025 and fill my stomach… so lets dig in!
Amalfi
Bobby Flays pride and joy! My mom was eager to eat here as she has watched him on TV for years especially Beat Bobby Flay. Vegas was the reason to finally try one of his spots to see if his food tastes as good as it looks. Great way to start off a trip is to make your mom happy!
Amalfi is inside the Caesars casino making the lounge area smoky, but luckily it doesn’t reach the dining area. Providing classic Italian cuisine that prides itself on its large high quality seafood selection.
For the meal, we wanted to be somewhat conservative for our first meal so we didn’t get any appetizers, just salads. For pastas they were all amazing from the spaghetti to the orecchiette to the gnocchi! Perfect texture of a little over al dente and the sauces all well balanced. Every dish was great and was an excellent start to our vacation!
What to order: Spaghetti Zucchine, Fish of Choice w/ Meyer Lemon + Capers, Pistachio Sundae
Address: Caesars Palace, 3570 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
Price: around $175-200 per person including cocktails
Overall Rating: 8.8/10
Gordon Ramsey Fish and Chips
Gordon Ramsey… Gordon Ramsey! My idol for brining Kitchen Nightmares, Hotel Hell, and Hells Kitchen. I had to go try his pride and joy of London food fish and chips. His youtube video of him making it at home I have watched around 20 times and never made it!
It was crowded! We waited around 30 minutes for our food and I wanted the sticky toffee pudding shake, but they sold out! We settled on the biscoff shake and when I tell you it was one of the best shakes I have EVER HAD, I mean business. Lord Business ;)
I was scared the fish might not come out crispy and it did, but sadly the fries didn’t make it RIP. No problem though, when you can just dunk a handful of truffle fries in garlic aioli like its canes sauce.
What to Order: Fish and Chips w/ Truffle Fries, Biscoff Shake
Address: 3545 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
Price: Fish $21.99 + $5.99 for truffle fries, $9 Biscoff Shake
Overall Rating: 9/10
Carbone
Carbone, Carbone, my expectations were so high and they fell so short. This place is the talk of the town when I hear about must try NYC restaurants. Everyone online hyped up the Spicy Vodka and Veal Parm which were both in my opinion disgusting.
Maybe I am dumb, but when I get dish that says spicy I expect spice, we got nothing. However, the AOP pasta that doesn’t say spicy! Was a literal inferno and our waiter thought we were dumb for not knowing how spicy it would be. I know its traditional, but onions in a vodka sauce is disgusting as it just overpowers the dish.
Onto the next recommendation the veal parm, Carbone just doesn’t know how to cook veal. It tasted rubbery and had a weird bounce after each bite that made me slightly hold my breathe each time I swallowed. Additionally, it was poorly seasoned and just a flavorless dish.
Positive thoughts Johnny (deep breathe)…….. Now, the best thing was the eggplant and zucchini scapece it had a wonderful balance of rich and acidic that made each bite oddly satisfying. The bread plate with the large chunks of parm like jewels and pickled vegetables was a perfect start. It just made the downfall of the entrees so much more unsatisfying and ultimately a failed evening.
What to Order: Extra Bread, Eggplant and Zucchini Scapece, Truffle Tag (Special)
Address: Aria Hotel, 3730 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89158
Price: around $200 per person
Overall Rating: 6/10
Lotus of Siam
Lotus of Siam came up recommended as one of HowKevEats favorite spots of 2024. I love his food reviews and he gave this a 9.2/10! Before we even sat down we waited almost an hour to sit down, getting to order around 2PM. We ordered everything Kev got to compare our meals, so no bs. This meal was horrible!
The duck khao soi he raved about was just gammy and chewy duck on top of soggy and mushy noodles. I attempted at a third bite and almost gagged. The garlic prawns had no flavor and the pad thai was mid. We were starving and for everything to still taste bad when IM HUNGRY, is saying something. Don’t recommend.
What to Order: Nua Nam Tok and Dad Deaw
Address: 620 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119
Price: $100 per person
Overall Rating: 4/10
Saint Honore Doughnuts
Every since I was brought back into the light of liking donuts. I have seen this place all over my for you page. I had no idea these masterfully crafted donuts only existed in Las Vegas and soon in my belly.
To not crash on the plane ride I got a humble 4 filled doughnuts for myself. The Cannoli, Hazelnut, Creme brulee, and Strawberry shortcake. The donuts were dense and thick which threw me off because I was expecting more fluffy texture from a brioche donut. Mild sweetness which disappointed me as I wanted more filling, but at least I was able to finish them!
What to Order: Strawberry Shortcake and Creme Brulee
Address: 9460 W Flamingo Rd, Unit 115, Las Vegas, NV 89147
Price: $20 for Mix and Match Box
Overall Rating: 7/10
Bavettes
Bavettes Steakhouse snuck onto this list in a crazy turn of events I can’t legally go into ;) Let’s just say New Years Eve was not treating us well and our previous reservation fell through last minute. Stranded with no where to eat we tried our luck at the bar here with 3 people. Mission impossible type beat and it worked!
Somehow got a special dinner on New Years Eve in Vegas with no reservation and a dream. Not only did they deliver us a seat, but amazing food! Got the basic steakhouse essentials a shrimp cocktail and medium rare wagyu steak cooked in cowboy butter. However, I was not prepared for how good this dessert would be.
This chocolate pie is a rich and creamy chocolate with an oreo crust which is the all time best for chocolate pie. It’s so moist and satisfying to cut each bite, I almost screamed out in excitement when my sister gave me her extra slice!
What to Order: Shrimp Cocktail, Medium Rare Steak, Chocolate Pie
Address: Park MGM, 3770 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
Price: around $150 per person
Overall Rating: 9/10
Wing Lei
Beautiful! The colors and attention to detail on silver ware and decorations make it feel like another dimension. I am usually not a fan of Chinese food and this didn’t change my opinion, but it did have some standouts.
The crispy shrimp toast was elevated to be so buttery and rich I was shocked. The seven sages cocktail rimmed with sichuan pepper dust on the glass made my mouth vibrate. The meal was a spectacle as every dish had finesse and the desserts could be hung in art museums. They also gave us 4 free desserts to go!
What to Order: Crispy Shrimp Toast, Peking Duck, Seven Sages Cocktail, Cherry Dessert
Address: Wynn, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
Price: around $200 per person
Overall Rating: 7/10
